    Tipi Demos 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Hang with Sky as he shares some tipi teachings and learn how to set one up.

    RPL Vehicle Zone 12:00pm – 4:00pm

    • Explore a variety of vehicles from your community up close, and learn fun facts from the people who operate them. Vehicles will be displayed by the Regina Fire Department, Regina Police Services, and Royal Canadian Navy.

    RPL Booth 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Pick up a Level Up game card to learn how your child can enter to win fantastic prizes for reading this summer, sign up for a library card, and learn more about all the library programs and services RPL has to offer.

    • Capture a family selfie with a fun library background!

    Storybook Characters Scavenger Hunt 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Find all sixteen storybook characters hidden around the RPL Family Fun Zone! Return your  sheet for a sticker prize and a ballot into the grand prize draw.

    • Play with bubbles!

    • Enjoy some quiet reading time. Take a moment out of a busy Canada day and relax with a good book.

    • Craft away!  Supplies are available to make a book mark, beautify a colouring page, and more.

    Big Games on the Lawn 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Play your favourite family games with a twist! Choose from Giant Connect 4, Jumbo Jenga, Large Checkers, Giant Guess Who, Giant Snakes and Ladders, ring toss, and cornhole.

    Stamped Prints with Yvonne Niegas 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Join artist Yvonne Niegas at the Dunlop Art Gallery booth to learn about her art and create some stamped prints of your own.   

    Yvonne Niegas (she/they) is an emerging artist based in Regina who works primarily in printmaking. Born and raised in the Philippines, their practice is rooted in the intricacies of human experience and connection, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and emotional resonance. Alongside their studio work, Yvonne is actively engaged in community initiatives, volunteering in arts-based programs and mentoring youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters.

    Métis Red River Cart 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Learn about the history, construction, and use of the Red River Cart from Métis Knowledge Keeper George Fayant with hands-on participation!

    Tipi Teachings 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Gain insight into traditional tipi teachings with this hands-on exhibit discussing the practical purpose of each tipi pole, and their connections to each stage of life.

    Beaded Keychains 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Beading is a cultural art form that holds great significance for Indigenous people. Learn Indigenous beading techniques by making your own pony bead keychain.

    Métis Pointillism 12:00pm - 4:00pm

    • Learn about Métis pointillist painting and create your own floral work of art.

    • Kevin MacKenzie is a world travelled, dynamic oral storyteller who uses lightning words, movement, and dizzying humour to electrify imaginations.

    Danny Kazam Magic Show 12:30pm - 1:00pm

    • Danny Kazam is a full-time professional performer who uses magic, comedy, and puppets to entertain thousands of families every year.  Prepare to be astounded by his mesmerizing magic tricks and illusions.  

    Wascana Women and Children’s Centre 1:15pm - 1:45pm

    • Enjoy a vibrant celebration of Chinese dance and choral performances by the Wascana Women and Children Centre. WWCC provides programs and services to empower and support women, children, and families, including education and literacy programs, skills training, music and arts programming, recreational and social activities, and multicultural exchange events.

    • Lone Creek Dance Troupe is a drum and powwow dancer group consisting of family, friends, and others from various Treaty areas. They sing in the original style as shared with them by their ancestors. They are happy and proud to share their style of song and drumming wherever they are invited.

    Nature Saskatchewan 

    • Nature Regina engages people in exploring and enjoying nature, learning about our interconnected world, and conserving natural systems and biodiversity. This Canada Day Nature Regina invites families to enjoy a variety of nature based games that foster outdoor exploration.

    Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Regina Centre 

    • Safely view the sun through telescopes with solar filters! Founded in 1910, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Regina Centre aims to stimulate interest and increase knowledge in astronomy-related sciences.

    Saskatchewan Science Centre

    • Explore some fun science activities with the Go! Science Outreach Team. The Saskatchewan Science Centre is dedicated to igniting scientific curiosity in Saskatchewan communities through interactive, dynamic, and engaging opportunities.

    At Buffalo Meadows Pool Park from 10:00am to 5:00pm. 

    RPL is proud to be a part of the Regina Tatanga Day event, which celebrates Indigenous culture and community, as we take important steps forward on the pathway of collaboration, reconciliation, and change. 

    Tatanga Day is an opportunity to celebrate Indigenous culture and community on the Canada Day national holiday. Activities at this annual event restore connection to the land’s purpose before it became Treaty 4 territory, which was a home for the buffalo and the people who lived alongside them, with a showcase of Indigenous talent, music, dance, art, and storytelling.

    • Learn about starblankets and create your own Starblanket design motif with artist Tracey George Heese and Leanne Redman.

    Drop-In Workshop: Buttons & Colouring Pages with Audie Murray

    • Great for all ages and abilities! Join guest artist Audie Murray at the Dunlop Art Gallery booth. Learn about her art, create a button or magnet, and relax with some colouring pages designed by Audie.

    Audie Murray is a visual artist whose who works across mediums such as beadwork, drawing, media, and installation, her engagement with ancestral knowledge systems explores how bodies carry memory, defiance and care, expanding on the multiplicities of contemporary Indigenous life. Murray is Métis and Cree from the Lebret and Meadow Lake communities located on Treaty 4 & 6 territories, and is a member of Flying Dust First Nation. She is currently based in Oskana kâ-asastêki (Regina, Saskatchewan).
